Background The background drawing incorporates all of the architectural and structural elements of the building. I usually use the electronic file from the architectural drawings as a base. Room callouts, structural steel & elevations, ceiling heights, floor slab changes, etc. are added to complete the background. Click on the image to the left to enlarge. |

Preliminary Detailing The preliminary duct layout incorporates the initial duct layout, coordinated with all of the architectural and structural features of the building. This layout shows duct sizes, locations, elevations, and offsets. RFI's for space conflicts & design issues are generated at this time. Many issues are resolved on the fly via slight re-design, re-routing, or re-sizing of the ductwork. The latest version of Autocad along with Quickpen DD3D detailing software are used to prepare the drawings. The drawing is now ready for coordination. Click on the image to the left to enlarge. |

Final Detailing The final duct layout incorporates all of the information required to fabricate the duct system. Detailed information is added to each fitting, piece number tags are added, the fittings are numbered, and list, pickoff, or run numbers are indicated on the drawing. Also, coordination revisions & Engineer's comments are incorporated at this time, along with any other required revisions. Click on the image to the left to enlarge. |
 | Ticketing Many clients prefer that I strip the drawings for fabrication. In this instance, each fitting is ticketed onto clear, concise cutsheets that can be forwarded to your shop or your fabricator. This simplifies your pricing and fabrication process. Sketches are done for odd fittings. At this time, spool sheets can also be developed. Click on the image to the left to enlarge. |
